In the Musiah piano lessons app, there are two modes:
Adults' Mode: Pure piano lessons with no story or animations (default mode for new student profiles).
Kids' Mode: A game-like environment where lessons take place within an exciting adventure story, and you are one of the main characters.
While "Adults' Mode" focuses solely on lessons, "Kids' Mode" offers unique features:
Interactive Learning: Musiah uses additional teaching techniques, such as guiding you through sub-questions or leveraging the group dynamic with student characters to help you arrive at the correct answers.
Enhanced Experience: "Kids' Mode" provides a shared learning environment and a deeper sense of progression through engaging storytelling.
Performance Challenges: At the end of each level, students perform three pieces in front of an audience. In "Kids' Mode," venues and scenarios become increasingly prestigious, reflecting the journey of a real-life musician.
Some adults enjoy "Kids' Mode" for its multi-layered storytelling and teaching methods. Ultimately, the choice is yours, based on what suits your preferences best.
Set in the year 4015, you are one of the few surviving humans in our galaxy, and now the galaxy is under threat from a vast army of invading machines known as the Atonals.
To save the galaxy from imminent destruction, you have joined a quest to help the legendary alien pianist and piano teacher, Anthemius Felc – the last of the Musiah – unlock "The Lost Song" which is hidden within the pages of an ancient piano textbook.
The textbook is encrypted with human DNA and can only be unlocked by a human Musiah, an actively developing piano student — that's you!
On this adventure, Musiah Anthemius Felc will be your piano teacher and you'll be learning piano in a group with other characters from the story.
Unlocking "The Lost Song" will enable you to become the next Musiah and to repel the Atonals and save the galaxy. But...
The completed clavitrisk with all 13 pieces
To unlock "The Lost Song", you must collectgather all 13 pieces of the clavitrisk (a special key) hidden on different planets.
Each Guardian of the Clavitrisk will only surrender their piece of the clavitrisk after you successfully complete a piano performance challenge by playing a selection of piano pieces in front of an audience on their planet.
Your piano lessons take place aboard Musiah's spaceship, where:
Each completed piece advances the spaceship toward the next clavitrisk location.
Clues about the Atonals and upcoming planets are revealed.
You'll earn gold stars to unlock performance challenges at the end of each level.
The story unfolds as you progress, ultimately leading to one final performance challenge—to play "The Lost Song" and determine the fate of the galaxy.
Achieving the rank of Musiah signifies possessing a truly exceptional musical gift – a gift that has the power to bring change to the lives of others and is sometimes accompanied by special powers or insight.
As a Musiah your responsibilities are in some ways like a musical priest. Music is the language of life, the living pulse behind all creation, the vibrational energy that sustains all living things. You must use your gift to bring joy to the souls of all living beings, restoring their faith and hope with its healing energy.
And in times of Atonal threat, you must wield your talent to defend mankind, sometimes putting your gift before yourself.
You will be mankind’s first, last and only hope. Your committment to this cause will be testament to the unrivalled dignity and grace of the spirit of the Musiah, the same spirit that gives birth to life itself.

“My name is Savannah and I am 7 years old. Musiah is really fun and I like the characters in the story, especially the green girl alien! I think it's funny when Musiah scratches his head when I get the notes wrong but he helps me until I get it right… My favourite song I have learned to play so far is 'Hot Cross Buns' but one day I want to learn how to play 'Jingle Bells' too.”

“I thought it was lots of fun but also very challenging. I would like to carry on with the other levels to see what happens in the story.”

John Foreman, pianist and musical director of some famous television shows, agrees:
“Musiah [online piano lessons software] is going to open a whole of doors for young people who are interested in music but who might not necessarily have the patience to sit down and practice half an hour every day… Practicing music used to be a bit of a chore but with this program… kids are going to be coming back to the keyboard and coming back to the computer [or ipad] because they want to get to the next level.”
